First Long Run

The plan for today called for a long run. After resting for 1 day, I felt I could possibly shoot for a half marathon distance but the weather was not in my favor. I work up to a Sunny and 9F chilly day that was supposed to warm up by a few degrees. By the time I was out of the drive way, it was barely 15F but the sun did really help.
The previous evening I had mapped the route in the park but seeing that the park might be colder, I decided against running in the park. What's more, the park is kinda hilly which would have made my first long run even harder. And with that I deviated from the plan and run along one of the major roads nearby. For the most part, the road has wide shoulders and thus it did't feel unsafe running in a 50 mph limit road.

I did an out and back run for as far out as I could run and in the end I ended up doing just over 11 miles. I'm not sure if the weather had anything to do with it, but I really thought running long distances is hard.
